I didn't play at the above venue, but it was on the same cool old-timey main street where I played in Silver City, NM. It was a really fun show! Sorry I missed another post, the wi-fi at the hotel wasn't working, so I just took it as a sign and hit the hay.
My favorite sign on the way to New Mexico was "Dust Storms May Exist," referring i suppose to what's possible over the next couple miles of road. I wonder what it's like to get caught in one, the other signage about them are pretty dire. Another sign was something to the effect of "zero visibility possible." I was right by the border, so there were a ton of inspections as well. Mostly for trucks, and I assume it's checking for drugs which is pretty crazy. Just a different world.
Anyways, back to whether dust storms exist. On a clear day it is hard to believe that something might swarm up from the ground, that the world might suddenly disappear into wind and dust.
